MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUM VISITS PT ALTER TRADE INDONESIA

Michael Tlusty and Jennifer Bowen, representatives from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, paid an official visit to PT ALTER TRADE INDONESIA. As part of the visit, they visited tiger shrimp ponds that are part of the PT ALTER TRADE INDONESIA program, located in Sidoarjo and Gresik. They observed the pond sediment conditions and analysed the water quality in the ponds. They also talked directly with farmers about the condition of their black tiger shrimp ponds.

Monterey Bay Aquarium and PT ALTER TRADE INDONESIA also conducted a survey that included visits to Surabaya University and Airlangga University. The purpose of this survey was to plan collaborations and pioneer more in-depth research on microbial health in black tiger shrimp ponds.
