Maintaining Quality Through Traceability
- Jan 29, 2026
Every product has a track record. But not every track record can be clearly traced, where it comes from and how it is processed. In the food industry, especially seafood, this track record is extremely important. This is where traceability plays a crucial role. But do you know what traceability actually is?
What Is Traceability?
Traceability is the ability to track the origin of a product, from raw materials, through the production process, until it is distributed to consumers.
Traceability at PT Alter Trade Indonesia (ATINA)
For ATINA, traceability is not just about documents or data stored in a computer system. It is an essential part of how ATINA maintains quality and trust. Every Black Tiger Shrimp we process has clear and complete data: which pond it comes from, when it was harvested, and when it was processed at ATINA’s facilities.

To ensure everything runs properly, ATINA has field inspectors who regularly provide assistance and supervision to farmers. This support is not only about data collection, but also about ensuring that farming practices follow Ecoshrimp standards, from pond management and water quality to handling procedures during harvest.
All of this information is recorded and becomes part of ATINA’s traceability system. With this system, every batch of Black Tiger Shrimp that enters the processing facility does not arrive as an anonymous product, but as shrimp with a clear and accountable history.
Traceability also makes quality control much stronger. If any non-compliance is found, the ATINA team can quickly trace the source and take the appropriate corrective actions, without confusion or delays.
