PT. Alter Trade Indonesia: A Commitment to Sustainability, Social Impact, and Product Quality
- May 22, 2026

Among the rising global demand for seafood products, companies are no longer evaluated just based on the products they produce. More than that, international buyers now consider how those products are produced—from their environmental impact and contribution to the community to the consistency of the quality offered.
In this situation, ATINA takes a different strategy.
Sustainability: Eco-Friendly and Conservation of Coastal Ecosystems

One of the core values that sets ATINA apart is its commitment to sustainability. This is demonstrated, for example, through traditional black tiger shrimp farming practices that maintain the balance of the natural pond ecosystem. This traditional farming system works in harmony with natural conditions without the excessive use of chemicals or artificial feed, thereby preserving the quality of the pond environment.
Shrimp farming is conducted with a focus on preserving the coastal ecosystem, including the presence of mangroves, which play a crucial role in maintaining environmental quality. To this end, ATINA also runs a mangrove nursery program to provide mangrove seedlings for environmental restoration efforts. These mangrove seedlings are then planted through a regular mangrove restoration program conducted in pond areas and coastal areas. The presence of mangroves plays a vital role in maintaining ecosystem balance, protecting coastal areas from erosion, and aiding in carbon sequestration.

In addition to protecting the environment, ATINA supports sustainable aquaculture by providing baby black tiger shrimp to farmers. This support helps farmers obtain high-quality baby shrimp, ensuring that the aquaculture process runs more optimally and sustainably from the very start of the production cycle.
Community Impact: Making a Real Difference for Coastal Communities
In addition to its focus on the environment, ATINA also prioritizes social aspects as a key component of its operations. As a result, the company continues to build partnerships with small-scale aquaculture farmers. Through these partnerships, farmers gain access to markets, guidance, and support to improve the quality of their aquaculture operations.

Moreover, as a form of support for pond productivity, ATINA also provides excavators to the farmers. This assistance helps farmers improve irrigation infrastructure and cultivate land, ensuring that the farming system operates more effectively.
Social impact is further strengthened through a women’s empowerment program that encourages women’s active participation in coastal communities. ATINA supports women’s groups in developing small businesses and productive economic activities, thereby creating new economic opportunities for the surrounding community.

Additionally, ATINA runs a program for the provision and guidance of household waste management, which has benefited approximately 3,000 households in coastal areas. Through this program, the community is encouraged to adopt better waste management practices to create a cleaner environment and support the sustainability of coastal communities.
Quality: High Standards for the Global Market
Quality is the cornerstone of every product produced by ATINA. With a commitment to delivering the best products to the international market, every process is carried out in an integrated manner and monitored to strict standards, from cultivation and harvest handling to processing at the factory.
ATINA implements hygienic handling systems and HACCP food safety standards to ensure every product meets global quality and food safety requirements. The use of modern technology in the production process also helps maintain optimal freshness, consistent quality, and product traceability.
